Between Brittany and Poitou-Charentes, you will not fail to have a break in this splendid corner of France which are the Countries of the Loire. It's up to you to make halt to the castle of Lude, where a splendid "sound and light" recall the history of the places. While crossing the Vendée, you will regale yourselves with history of Chouans, these peasants who raised themselves against the beginnings of the Republic... Nantes, historical capital of the area, will enjoy yourself with the small streets of its old city. The Edict of the same name was promulgated in 1598 per Henri IV with a simple goal, the end of the religious wars: a kingdom, two religions... Crossed by the river of the same name, these "Countries of the Loire" will astonish you by various landscapes, but also by unforgettable savours.

A gastronomical stay in the Country-of-the-Loire will enable you to discover the specialities of this superb area. We cannot start this tour without speaking of Guérande salt-water and its marshes. Deicing salt, table salt and Salt Flower, mixed with all kinds of spices, you will learn from the paludiers many original recipes to renew the art of the seasoning. While going down towards the Vendée, the amateurs of iodized savours will regale themselves of a dozen Vendée-Atlantic Oysters accompanied by glass of quite fresh Gros-Plant. Before leaving, have a quick stay in Montbert, small town in Nantes suburbs and taste, in the so nicefreshness of the many cellars of the surroundings, a glass of Muscadet, one of the most famous ambassador of the Countries-of-the-Loire.
